Booked some windsurfing tuition for my son and his friend who are both 13 years old. They were just starting to plane but were keen to get in the harness and footstraps. After 6 hours of lessons over 2 days they were both in the harness and straps!! That would have taken him 12 months sailing with me to get this far forward in a weekend! A big thank you to the team at the watersports centre for being so flexible with the conditions and Dave (the instructor) was amazing, both lads are still raving about the experience! What a great facility, well worth a visit. I do enjoy this part of the country and visit Rutland water regularly for various events. The water sports venue is well run and equipped with friendly staff.
Lovely place to go. There is plenty of parking and so much to see and do. Lots of activities on offer for all of the family. There may be a lot of people there but because of the size of the place it doesnt feel crowded at all. The staff there are so helpful and kind they always seem to have a smile on their face. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a good day out!
Good chance to rent a kayak or stand-up paddleboard for an hour and head out on the lake. Good to book in advance at peak times or at least early in the day to book an activity slot later on. Even an opportunity to hire a sail boat if qualified or take lessons (boat activities especially need booking in advance). Car park is close by and there are the cafe bar and toilets very close. Easy to walk along the shore and spectate of you're not taking part on the water.
