This is an amazing place to visit.

You probably need to have an interest in industrial railways to fully appreciate this little gem, but even if you don't it's an inexpensive and charming place to spend a little time. Five stars for the buff or industrial historian, three for the average joe. I fall in the middle so I've given it four! Enthusiastic and informative people.

Err, it's 'ok' really. Fiver to get in & go on a steam train. It's a bunch of guys' hobby, not really a tourist attraction, but I enjoyed it all the same.

Britain at it's very best. Run by volunteers it's a work in progress as locomotives are restored and then used on rails to transport members of the public and various rolling stock. Nice cafe and a pleasant walk alongside the track. There's even a diesel shovel pretending to scoop up rocks and dump them in a truck. Great fun and you can ride the train as many times as you want & get a full blast of steam & smoke.

Brilliant some very interesting items regarding the quarries around this area well worth a visit
