Visited for Sunday lunch. Excellent menu, perfect service, really good prices and to top it off beautifully cooked food. A really homely atmosphere with a wood burner makes this a fabulous place for a meal or just a drink. There are tables outside and a car park. Very handy for a stop while walking or cycling the Rutland water circuit.I'm saving this as one of my favourite places.
My partner and I booked in here for a meal with 2 other couples. We had to wait quite a long time for our meals which you expect when they are cooked properly and not just microwaved. They were most definitely worth the wait, all six meals were absolutely beautiful. One of our friends said that the pie was possibly the best he had ever had. The pub itself was really nice with a very friendly atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Would recommend booking as every table was full for obvious reasons.
Had a lovely meal here. The staff are really nice and friendly. We have come back twice now to stay on the caravan site and use the pub for both food and drinks. The owners and family are super friendly as is Ken the groundsman. A great place to visit if passing by or to actually book. Advice would be booking for food is the best way to go based on the quantity if people always here.
